Field guiding is a career which demands dedication and education, and with the increase in tourism to Africa, there is a great demand for trained field guides, game rangers and trackers. Because the industry is very young and there is a lot of movement and positions open up frequently.

The Field Guide
The position of Field Guide requires good verbal and written communication and a passion for the natural environment. The primary role of a Field Guide is to host guided tours either on foot or in vehicles for the guests of game reserves and game farms.

The Game Ranger
The position of Game Ranger requires someone with good communication and organisational skills. Game Rangers facilitate game drives for guests but also focus on setting up conservation programs and maintenance of the reserve, etc.
