More about Maintenance jobs in Africa

Because of the often remote nature of the hospitality industry in Africa, a maintenance manager needs to be proficient and experienced in plumbing, electrical, construction and mechanics. Experience in carpentry is a strong advantage.

Maintenance workers responsibilities include everything from sweeping and mopping the public areas of the lodge, resort or hotel, to fixing and repairing equipment such as vehicles, Jacuzzis, air conditioning and heaters. The more maintenance experience you have, the higher your pay.

The maintenance department is run by a Maintenance Manager, who ensures that all maintenance work is carried out correctly, and reports any faults or completed work.
