More about Sales & Marketing jobs in Africa

Due to strong competition within the African travel & hospitality industry, a good sales & marketing plan has become one of the most important factors in determining the success of lodges, resorts, hotels, travel centers and tour operators. Marketers need to understand the economic structure of the industry, and identify segments within the market to target. It’s also very important for marketers to understand their competitors and the products and services they offer.

The Sales and Marketing department generally consists of two key positions, the Marketing Co-ordinator and the Marketing Manager.

Sales and Marketing Manager
The position of Sales and Marketing Manager requires excellent communication skills as the main functions are to create brand awareness and ensure an increase in sales. The Sales and Marketing Manager would usually work closely with the Sales Director to achieve the hotel or lodge's sales targets.

The Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator
The Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator assists and reports directly to the Sales and Marketing Manager. The position of Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator also requires you to be creative as you will be responsible for coming up with brand awareness and strategy campaigns.
