Guides Manager
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Tour Manager is responsible for managing the operational & scheduling tours by following, planning, developing and implementing different administrative procedures. The tour manager's main duty is the management, sourcing and contracting of all guides and drivers for all scheduled tours.

Duties Include:

Creating an annual vehicle schedule & guide plan and updates; Annual Budget and project budgets; improvement of tour operational systems, processes and policies; ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, licensing and industry requirements pertaining to tour operations and guiding; communicating with and direct and remote offices on duties and SOP's to ensure high standards are maintained; Incident management and the implementation of systems and procedures to assist in the same; Collecting guide route feedback and discuss with guides; support all internal departments with service requests for guide information and tour reviews and complaints as well as assist product team with practical advice on tours, routes, guides and vehicles to be used; providing annual guide rates timeously; troubleshooting tour issues, communicate issues to various stakeholders, problem solve issues in a cost effective manner; and play a significant role in long term planning, including initiative geared towards operational excellence.

The central purpose of this position is management of all guide and driver allocation and training, ensuring guides and drivers are sourced and contracted on time for various tours, ensuring guides and drivers have appropriate visa and qualifications, doing guide assessments, awards, disciplinary action (if/when needed), as well as dealing with all communication, such as guides Facebook page, newsletters, manual, etc. Updating guides contact information, preparing guides training plan, budgeting and conducting training, checking and planning route notes, Costing, briefings, signing off on accounts, training and managing admin assistants, and attending regular meetings

Guiding experience with strengths in logistics and management, good communication, crisis resolution and customer service skills, independent and pro-active work style, strong organizational, time management and computer skills (including Excel), and a willingness to work long hours during season. It would be great to find someone with German as a second language if possible.
