· Description:
The CSIR ICC Banqueting Department has an
opportunity for a Banqueting Supervisor who
will proactively supervise the department’s
activities to ensure delivery of world class
service to all CSIR ICC customers and to improve
the Centre’s standards through innovation and
creativity. This position is based in Pretoria
and includes weekend and evening work as
required.

· Skills/Requirements:
Key responsibilities: - Liaise with clients to ensure client peace of
mind and that all clients’ requirements are
taken care of and total client satisfaction is
ensured. - Organise and supervise daily set up and
running of events according to event sheet
specifications and set standards. - Ensure staff maintains a friendly and
efficient service to customers at all times. - Management and control of beverage
stock. - Ensure front/back of house areas are
maintained according to set standards. - Oversee the set up of venues for client
events to ensure that space, fittings and
fixtures, furniture and lighting are used
to create an atmosphere conducive to
improving client’s events and leave brilliant
impressions on the minds of all visitors to
the Centre. - Assist the Senior Banqueting Supervisor
with amending the Banqueting staff
duty roster according to business needs
and ensuring that staff are dressed
appropriately.
Qualifications, skills and experience: - Grade 12 certificate - A National Diploma in Hospitality
Management will be an advantage - 2 to 3 years experience in a similar
operation and position - Customer focused and service driven - People management skills - Interpersonal/Communication skills - Attention to detail - Service excellence skills - Product & service knowledge - Knowledge of the industry - Effective supervision - Complaint handling skills
