Field Guide/ Trails Guide - KZN
Description:

Key Responsibilities:

·Guiding, this may include conservation work.

·Ensure highest standard of performance for yourself at all times

·Work with Lodge Managers and AI team ensuring your vehicles is in fully working order and safe to drive (reporting any issues to Lodge Management) by responsible driving and doing daily checks on the vehicle.

·Assist in the education of volunteers during all drives and additional periods during the day by doing extra presentations e.g zulu lessons and talks. Be pro active in suggesting ideas to consistently move the projects forward.

·Be part of the team during conservation initiatives and take responsibility for volunteers safety at all times.

·Manage safety and emergency situations that may arise with volunteers or guests on drives or conservation work

·Work with volunteering coordinators and other partner organizations in providing the highest possible experience for all volunteers.

·Develop yourself further training to build upon your skill set by learning to collect and fill in data collection forms yourself and learn to use the various tools used in data collection.

·Assisting with transfers for weekend activities

·When not needed for activities to be on duty from 7 till 4 and assist when needed in the lodge.

·To be available if needed to assist around the lodge between activities and be available to run the bar one night a week.



Skills/Requirements:

The applicant must have at least 2 years experience as a Field Guide and at least 6 months previous research/monitoring experience.The candidate may be required to provide Lodge Management support on an ad-hoc basis and so additional experience in Lodge Management and/or Project Management is preferred.
