Lodge Manageress and Chef - Zanzibar
Description:
We are in urgent need for a Manageress and a female Chef for an upmarket 74 chalet lodge on the east coast of Zanzibar. Unfortunately we can only offer these positions to single females as we do not have positions for partners. The lodge has electricity with backup generators, Wi-Fi with fans and air conditioners in each chalet.

Skills/Requirements:
The position is currently available for a Manageress who will be responsible for the entire operational running and administrative organization of this well utilized upmarket privately owned lodge.  Candidates must have basic management experience. Key qualities we are looking for include-Reliability, Pro-activeness, Solutions orientated, Flexibility & Adaptability, High Service Ethics, Outgoing, Skilled Communicator (English) and People’s Person (including children) characterized by the ability to use diplomacy and tact.

Management responsibilities include:
Staff Management; Excellent Planning, Co-Ordinating and Control capabilities. Excellent verbal skills (oral and written English). Administrative Excellence around cost controls. Professional Personal Appearance & Guest Relations. The ability to work under pressure and must have attention to detail.

Management requirements must be very well organized and computer literate.
Duties include:
Welcoming guests, supervising the kitchen and housekeeping departments, staff training, managing a staff of sixteen, stock and cost control, lodge purchasing, reports and statistics, invoicing guests for usage etc, dealing with guest’s enquiries and requirements for their stay. When required assisting guests with daily activities.

The Chef will be responsible for running a well equipped kitchen producing 5* quality 3 course meals. Training of local staff will be part of their duties as well as cost control.

Work conditions – 6 days on and 1 day off with 28 days annual leave.

Benefits for the ideal applicants will include accommodation and all meals. Salary and other benefits will be negotiable. Flights and visas will be paid by the company. This will be a 2 year contract with an option to re-new if agreeable by both parties’.
